Right I have been missing the 106 recently as the 206 is just not as exciting to drive and have had an offer off something.
I have been offered this

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z92/jasonvts88/Random/734988-1.jpg
With 6 months tax 12 months mot 110k miles and no marks/scratches on it loads of history/receipts and £550.
For this

I wouldnt swap your 206 for that saxo. Its got 110k on the clock and not worth that much tbh.
I reackon you would be bet off selling your car and buying a saxo.

keep the 206 mate there a much better car.
If your not happy with it get some suspension upgrades etc.

How does the 206 compare to the 106 that you had for straight line speed?
(Assuming your 106 was standard)
-Jason-
23rd October 2008, 18:57
I value mine at maybe 2200?
VTS is up for £1600 so with an extra £550 works out about right

while im not the biggest fan of teh 206 shape i would say keep the 206 and wait till teh market picks up a bit and sell then buy a saxo

Its not good to sell any car at the minute, but it will sell if you give it abit of time.Or try to offer your car for swaps to other people on piston heads or try www.swapz.com thats a good site to swap your car.
Edit;
Its swapz.co.uk

I thought you wanted the 206 for comfort on M-Roads etc.? You Probably won't have that with the saxo. Personally I wouldn't, not with that saxo anyway... hope you make the right decision anyway jason.

23rd October 2008, 21:46
Id swap if it was like £1200 and the saxo.
Mr_suv
23rd October 2008, 21:51
id do that, you cannot sell 206s easily at the moment , milage is just a figure and mk1s have a place in my heart especially a white sexy one!
evans1089
23rd October 2008, 22:46
sell 206 first then spend the 2k on something with lower milage, 110ks milage is rediculas
-Jason-
23rd October 2008, 23:13
Not that high if serviced regually most mk1 saxos have like 90k on them
However need some cash for bills
fi3ldy
23rd October 2008, 23:31
You'll get alot more for your 206.. You'll be able to buy a saxo, in just as good condition, with alot less miles, and have peace of mind it's not going to pack up on you the next day!
-Jason-
23rd October 2008, 23:38
Cant sell the 206 look on ebay they are not selling this way i get a nice white vts and cash to pay off bills.
Mileage is not an issue really if I feel its getting to hight I will just put a lower mileage engine in its the shell I mainly want to be nice

Someone finally listens lol
If I wanted I could swap for a mk2 vts but that would help financially so this is the best way

Judging by this, you're going to do it anyways, you just want some peeps to agree that it's the right thing to do. ;)
110k miles is extremely high imo, chances are the lump will need replacing before 120k. Would get him to offer an extra £200 then probs do it, if you really dislike your 206.
Luke
24th October 2008, 07:48
110k is nothing, aslong as it has FSH etc then you'll be right.
Looks at Mikes old car, 117k on it and still going strong.
I'd say £700 cash though and he has a deal, that seems fair tbh!
-Jason-
24th October 2008, 08:03
Glad someone else see's the mileage is not everything lol
It has stacks of history should make a nice little track project over the winter ;)

Sounds like a good deal with the £700, To reclaim tax you take your tax disc back to the post office if thats what you mean.

Lol.
Its nice, and like said, mileage isnt everything, as long as the car has been looked after, and will be looked after, with regular oil changes etc, then it should run and run and run. Technically....
