strange noise

coming from the rocker cover (i think!) this only happens when its been standing for about 8hours, i start the engine and theres a clicking noise like something is loose in or some were around the rocker cover... any ideas ?

i thought it would have been my gear box as that is on its way out..

Might just be the tappets? Mine were clicking loads a while ago, might just need to get them adjusted.
