could it be my water pump?

the car is stil overheating, i unscrewed the the top bleed screw with he engine running, the system is full but no water comes out at all? does the pressure cap need to be on for this to work or does it not make a difference. if i rev it slightly some splutters out but after that nothing again.

Thermostat is a first point of call.

If there is alot of whining going on when you rev it slightly your water pump is on the way out.

thers to bleed nipple i belive, one at the back (near the ecu) and one on the rad too?

oh right, yeah the fan kicks in. i just thought it was weird that with the cap off the bleed screw next 2 ecu and engine running, surely water shud be pissing out of it?

now im pissed off lol took my car for lil drive and then went and undid the bleed screw expecting nothing to happen and all of a sudden thw whole of my cooling system pissed out of the little hole, burnt my hnd while i was at it too. and im suposed to be a trained mechanic :(

sorry but i got to laugh at that :p but anyway back to the matter in hand. there is a bleed screw at the back near the ecu and another near the top hose at the engine. if you want to bleed the system leave the rad cap off and fill will coolant then remove the cap at the top hose and wait till water comes out, remembering to keep the coolant topped up oh and engine running. then once it comes out of there remove the one near the ecu and wait for that to do the same. it will help to have the interior heaters on full heat.

I had to bleed my back bleed screw a few times to get all the air out but it was fine after that. hope this helps

as for the cap near the ecu, you will need the rad cap off to let coolant through, because with the cap on it will cause a vacum and wont let it through. plus the thermostat will be closed if the engine is cold when trying this. thrus stopping the coolant going through the radiator till the enigne gets upto temp.

u need to use a header tank or a bottle with the bottom cut off.. put it on ur filler tank.. and pour the water in that way.. there are 3 bleed nipples.. one by the ecu.. looks like a valve cap.. one on the thermostat housing.. its a size 5 alan key bolt.. and one on top off the radiator.. undo them all.. pour water into the bottle with the engine running and keep it topped up. water will eventually begin to piss out of them all when it does do them back up as quickly as pos and keep the water topped up lol.. hope this helps lmao
