been trying to think of ways to make some cash. i thought of buying imported cars. anyone know anything about it. i heard they get brought in at the docks somewhere and you can buy them there. is this true? or has anyone done this? what docks? cheers

They get shipped into Southampton and put on auction. The ones that dont sell then go up to Liverpool. You can make a few thousand on each car.

Its not a straight forward process from the little i know about it!!
Your likely to make more money easier by just buying and selling normal cars, ones that may need a few hundred pound spent on them, then sell them for a grand more etc....

i already buy normal uk cars to sell . but i fancy a change. well high performance motors is what i want to get into if the money`s right

can make alright money, very risky tho.
also you could be trying to sell a car upto a year.

I dont know how much it all costs, but if you import a car like mine for 3.5k you can easily get around 5-6k for it over here. With the right spec.

Nah mate. But theres always a few new imports on Pistonheads that are around the 5-6k mark and I know you can buy them from Japan for just over half that.

it used to be a good way to make money but now everone is skint they arent sellin as well, i got my type r impreza for a good price and the lad lost money on it

I know for a FACT, alot of parts are robbed int he docks at Liverpool, inc wheels etc.
They also rag the shit out of the cars before the auction.
How do I know this?
Some lads in my old college do it.
