guys/girls, just got my green induction kit, was wondering what the actual difference is between an induction kit and a air filter?!

different manufacturers give them different names.
some come with the filter on its own while others come with the piping.

nothing in essence they are the same thing just a slightly different design, they both filter the air entering the engine

rite, but isnt there a price difference between these?!

yes due to what they are.
A panel filter from say K+n or whoever will be cheap because it fits into the induction tract like a normal standard air filter.
An induction kit is more expensive because it comes with a cone filter and various bits of tubing etc....

are you thinking of the forced air kit and a induction/air filter?

to give you an idea mate. i paid around £70 for a pipercross air filter and paid £160 for a bmc induction kit.

normally a panel filter just slots in2 the original air box where the old 1 was n can cost approx £30. the induction kit usually ditches the whole standard air box and is replaced by a large cone shaped filter which connects to the throttle body or tubing leading to it, and sometimes comes with a length of plastic tubing to allow you to duct cold air from the front of the car up to the filter. usually costing approx £70-80 for a basic kit. should give a rough idea matey

yes yes, i know im a cheeky cunt - but forced induction is the likes of a turbo, not an "enclosed" induction kit smileys/happy.gif</font>
