Hi there,

I have my MK1 Saxo SX 1.1 changed its basic wheel into 15" inch Compomotive alloys. The wheel fits the car with spacers on each. Everything is fine until, i gave my GF's mum a lift that i hear some scratching noise. I went out and find out that the back wheels are too close to the arc and therefore scratching on the skin?? of the car. Forgive me with my terminology im not technical about cars LOL.

If you looked on the picture below, thats where the problem is. Anyone who can make any suggestion on how can i resolve this problem will be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance..

You need to take the bumpstrip off and either fold the lip around the arch, or grind it off, then treat the metal to prevent rust and then refit the bumpstrip.

If you plan to lower your car in the future this will definately need doing :y:

Hey Marshy,

Thanks for the advice mate. what can i use to treat the metal to prevent it from rusting? Have you got a name or a brand of the chemical?

Cheers bud!

I would use some zinc primer and a little bit of paint over it to protect it ;)
