I must admit I love my 306 GTI-6. More to run than the VTS but it does everything that I want, to the point that I can't really think of a car for under 10k that would suit me better. Good space, good on the motorway, well spec'd (AC, leather, auto wipers etc) and fabulous to drive. The only downside is the clutch and steering are a bit too heavy for my girlfriend, so it's probably off in a short while. Still haven't got round to writing the add though!

If i was you I'd either

gti-6's are a very nice car, very fast for a hatchback, uber comfy with the leather, and sound bloody great with a magnex on.
however vts gets my vote i think the 306 looks too conservative

VTS but make sure you can afford the insurance
and tax renewal
main things about owning a vts if your 18/19

Could get a Starlet GT for that money, but not the Glanza.
I reckon the VTS would be the car to go for imo. Don't get me wrong the 306 is still nice but its too bulky imo

If you are after a really fun car and not worried about how comfty it is then i would get a vts over a 306gti6.When i had my Gti6 it was not as fun to drive than my vts but was nicer on a day to day drive.

Pat lol
Our 306 S16 is no way as fun to drive as my VTS. The VTS is much lighter.

depends on mods they both have ..... both standard the gti-6 is a little faster top end but 0-60 is only a little difference.
if you can afford the group 15 insurance then go for the 306 gti-6, if u wanna save money get the vts and modd it a little and it should be as fast (if not faster) than a gti-6.
let you think about that ;)
