2 complaints made during the show.
10,000 complaints made when it hits the papers.
10,000 complaints made by people who read the story in the paper, not those who listened to the show.
The public can be fucking retarded at times.

Bit harsh to suspend him though it was a joke.
Is this political correctness going one step too far?

Yup, she's not that bright if she wants to avoid upsetting grandaddy
1. Don't become a berlesque dancer
2. Dont tour with a group called "The satanic sluts"
3. Don't sleep with a man you know a: you know has a sex addiction b: talks about his private life
These are simple, easy rules to follow.
She's not really arsed about this, she's trying to grab hold of fame in an Abi Titmus fashion

Not sure it's entirely the media's fault. You can't manipulate the media for economic gain. Unless you're China.

I dont agree with media censorship, everyone should have a right to know however I think that the reality has been exaggerated by the press, not even realising the potential world depression they are contributing to just to shift papers...

I think they deserve a beating because..
1. They're loaded.
2. They're cocky because their loaded.
Even if they was out of bussines for ages they've still got plenty of cash to lead a better life than the general public.
As for the lass in question - she's just a slut.. paid to be a slut, and now being paid by The Sun etc because someone pretty much called her a slut, she's just as bad.
Sack them all.

True, I think they helped bring down Northern Rock swiftly, the thing is, everyone has lost faith in the markets, which is a result of a downturn in the US with lots of bad debt, sadly it's more than a media storm

Ridiculous it was a joke that was a little out of hand maybe.
Why suspend them? There is people out there that get away with all sorts and they get suspended and all this grief from a joke!
Does this mean Jonathons show on friday is cancelled? If so thats crap, i look forward to that every friday!

I agree, obviously its not all media. But our economy has been growing on the strength of confidence, so media speculation to knock that confidence is never good.

To be honest it's only 'everyday people' that have lost faith in the market and yes, this is due to media making a mountain out of mole hills...... many large international companies have taken no notice of the media and therefore still performing pretty well on the markets.
If everyone stopped freaking out and put their assets back in the banks, the whole turmoil would wither out !!
I don't read the news.... reason being, I think it's all about trying to influence people's decisions/behavior.
This makes sense to me, sorry if it's all crap to everyone else!!
Chris :)
Robb
29th October 2008, 14:26
Depends Chris, alot of larger companies are feeling it more so than the smaller ones. Not saying the smaller ones arent but the larger companies have larger infrastructures to deal with larger volumes of sale (more people, running costs, larger warehouses). Therefore when the everyday people stop spending, which hasnt really started just yet, but it will eventually, then you will see these larger companies in more trouble.

I know what you mean
The fact for a lot of companies though is that credit isn't so easy to get hold of at the moment, which is slowing things down a bit.
The big problem is that by talking ourselves into a crisis here we are in danger of putting China into a resession, which will make things a lot worse.

In trading industries you can only trade up to the amount of cash you have availible. That will go down for most companies and that's where the issue is.
Robb
29th October 2008, 14:35
Haha I was actually gonna add on the end, but I forgot (phone rang), that this is the case in my industry, and I know you guys work in the banking idustry so it may be different...
Campdavid, why is china a big deal? Because of all the factorys?
CampDavid
29th October 2008, 14:40
Robb - Chinese industy is massive, 1 billion people and half the stuff in the world is made there. As a result they bring in lots of raw matterials and spit out the products that we consume. If that slows down too much then it's going ot affect all of us.
Chris
29th October 2008, 14:44

Might not need to pay them off as its likely dismissal will be under gross misconduct which would mean little or no pay-off.

£20m for a one off or £18m a year? I'd rather have the one off sacking. I don't really like Ross anyway. Russell on the other hand is a legend. Used to dispise him but after reading his book i find him quite funny.
I haven't a clue what they said :(

No - I'm fine with successful people.
Succesful people who abuse their position - punish them.
So just jealousy then. Not a reason to sack someone that does a good job.
Again, it's not jealousy (well obv. anyone would like their salary) the fact is they have fortunes and celeb status, if a guy came upto you in the pub announcing he'd had sex with your granddaughter you'd have an entirely different say on this matter..
but hey ho he's a celeb, so it's a big LOL !

They are both paid millions as "professionals" I dont think they behaved as such on that occasion.
Take away the fact it was done to a famous person and their grandaughter has behaved the way she has, it would cease to be funny.
Does her behaviour make her fair game then? Also why should this Sachs guy be singled out?
I dont think anyone on this forum could honestly say they would not be offended by someone announcing they had slept with your grandaughter, as an amusing anicdote for everyone else listening.
Its like the idiots Im sure everyone has had experience of. Those people that say "cant you take a joke" when it all goes tits up.......

tbh who cares , it should just be between themselves like when ross apolozied in person and that be the end of it in the public eye ( for him anyway , since russel lied and said he had apolozied when he hadnt i think he should be sacked ), only reason i expect anyone to care is the fact no more friday night with j.r , who gives a shit about russel brand ( really hes a twat and if you like him you should be pointed at and the word twat shouted repeatedly ).
