It is thought that the genes a child inherits from their parents have an important role in determining whether they will have autism. However, the exact cause is unknown and it's probably due to a combination of different factors. There is a lot of ongoing research looking into the causes of ASD.

so if there is no family history of it the chances are slim? xxx

their are no blood tests to determine ASD but as a child they may of been or are a bit behind with things and one common thing connceted to it is hearing problems

Mmm! possibly! but they still not 100% on what causes it so thats why it hard to detect but it is alot more recognisable these days.
Years ago people would just say they are backwards and put them in institutes coz theyd say they were a danger to society but thats not the case now!

most people who suffer with aspergers syndrome tend not to have any of the learning disabilities associated with autism. But maybe have dyslexia.

Kid who lives a few doors down was diagnosed with aspergers a year or two ago so i'd say he was around... maybe 12 0r 13 when diagnosed....
His mum (also my god mum) noticed that a lot of the 'symptoms' she was reading about where present in Dave, her husband.
Dave was tested and turns out he has had it too.
Pretty rare considering it isn't gennetic (might be wrong... could be genetic but don't think it is)
Most people who have it go unnoticed according to google lol's
