This may sound pretty sinistar but don't worry, i'm not going to use it. Just always wondered.
How do people get virus's that screw up other people's computers. Do people write them and then upload them for others to send on or do they just send it to a load of e-mail address's which then send them on?
Scenario...
Say i hate someone or someone's company and wanted them to have a problem with ther computers. Obviously i don't know how to write a virus so what would i do? Speak to a virus creator?

Will be for there own entertainment, remember that one virus that was so big it was all over the news. And the guy got arrested or something.
Thats when everyone starting buying anti-virus software...

Nothing is geekier than that.
I suppose the virus creater creates them to show that they have one up on the anti-virus guys and the bods at microsoft etc. Geeky to us but not geeky to them. Now even WOW players must know they are geeks.

Not really geeky when you consider the wage packet it can bring in.

Most of the big ones are 'commisioned' by the big anti virus boys. Keeps them in business. At one point there was a rumour of a virus for mobile phones, it was created by some Russian dude, was on the news. Then two weeks later, a large well known software company released an anti virus program for phones to protect them from it. Good timing...

I know afew people that hack stuff. Alot of trojans get around by tricking people into downloading updates etc and including the trojan in there and then it basically burries itself into your C: drive and is a pain to get out. Abit like a tumour in your spine cord for example.

Big companies such as Windows etc employ virus creators/hackers to exploit weaknesses in their software, so they can close the gaps.
Would love to be able to do it, not got the patience or skill though. :(

Pretty big penalty if you are found to have installed the virus tho Dan.
From what i remember what you want is an e-bomb, So you install it now, then in a couple months it would activate then do what ever you wanted it to, but you would have been long gone by then.
