View Full Version : Anyone else feel a bit mift about having a 1.1?

I wish so badly I could get a vtr :homme:

I'd sell up and get a furio but the standard interior is horrible and im pretty sure 99% of them have been ragged within an inch of their lives by previous owners. I have a decent flat arch but it would be amazing to have the speed and looks of a vt. I dont want to spend too much money on a 1.1......because well, my lawnmowers got more power but I don want it look good.

why cant u get a vtr?
u could say the same for all saxos about being ragged, u just gotta take that chance when u buy one.

Same goes to every saxo bar the diesel tbh, your always gonna get ones that have been looked after and are completely std though mate.

In fairness, I started off with a Furio, and Im glad I did but now Ive become attached to it so im gonna drop a VTS lump in it rather than just buy a VTS. Where as youve started with a 1-1 and know your gonna move on, so if you end up buying an S it will be easy for ya

I wouldn't say Furio Al's furio or Jungle Jim's westcoast were ragged. Do some research and you'll find a good one :)

yeah i spose. im quite lucky with mine. two of the owners were young girls and the other owner was one of the girls dads. My mates saxo's are in much worse condition tbh. Mine runs great and the only problem ive had is a failed rear light. guess im just greedy. every now an dthen i get this urge to buy a furio or vtr and just be happy. Ive got uni next year so will probably say goodbye to having a car for 3 years :(

Also, theres a dif between driving a car hard, and ragging it. If the bloke lets it get warm, and services it properly its gonna be in better shape than a bloke who drives it well but misses out servicing intervals

lol. My insurance is already stupid. cant really afford anymore. so i guess that means no VT or furio. still kinda miffed at having a slow 1.1 though. My mate came out in his MG ZR the other day. dayum I was jealous lol.

UWE mate. I use my car to get to lessons aswell, its only a mile away but the bus services at unis are seriously wank.

Im a delivery driver for Dominos as my Job, so basically i get petrol money to fund me having the car up here, and then my actual pay is my food and beer money. And I get cheap pizza, which for a student is pretty mint lol

End of the day, the maximum maxiumum speed limit on a road in the UK is 70mph. Most roads are to congested to do over 50 around here tbh.

I had my 1.1 till I was 20 and it was a really good little car. Cheap to run, cheap to tax and insure. Parts were cheap as chips and it was easy to maintain. Keep the 1.1 for a couple of years to earn your NCB then upgrade to a bigger car.

You'd rather half have the power and half the chance of surviving in a crash, you're insane Karl!

To answer the threads question... No I am not miffed about having a 1.1, it was my decision to buy the car and it does everything I want, it looks good-handles well-is nippy enough-is good on fuel-has not caused any problems, and continues to make me smile.

If you want a vtr then save up simple :y:

pedal to the metal driving is pretty fun in a 1.1 and if its too sluggish wack sum breather mods, lowered suspension and back box on it and hit the back roads u can have a gr8 laugh.

mines standard but on the back roads it beats my mates 1.4 sax, saxos are built for sweet handling and thrashing along the back roads not top speed
