106 gti exhaust on saxo vtr?

Hiya

I have just bought a 1997 saxo vtr of a mate but it is de-cated. For the mot this needs to be sorted obviously.

Another mate has a standard 106 gti exhaust i can put on for the mot. will this fit? He says the mainfolds are different as the 106 is 16v but he thinks from the manifold back they are similar so it should be ok

what do you guys think?? and will it be worth buying it off him for the future instead of the loud system on there now, or will the performance be crap as they are not suited as standard??

It will fit but will not sit right on the car.

Technicaly the mani's are different but the join at the end is the same.

Its at the back of the car the 106 exaust sits more contral and will sit to the right of the recess on the bumper when looking at the rear of the car
