Right basically i passed my test back in august and my dad sorted out the insurance for me. The problem is he went with direct line as they were the cheapest due to quite a large multi car and pass plus discount. Now ive got a bit of spare monies and im wanting to get a few mods e.g exhaust, lower etc.

So im in a bit of a pickle, is my only option to wait till i get a years no claims and change insurance companies? How do other 17 year olds mod there furios/vtrs etc without the insurance being like 3 grand?? Any advice would be great thanks :y:

Have you spoken to your insurance company?

If not, ask them what mods if any you can do without any affect on the premium.

think a lot of 17yr old mod without telling insurance company.some companies allow 3 cosmetic/non performance type mods.ring up and ask.id save my money till the second year though.

I think i read somewhere on here that direct line dont allow any mods until your 25 :n:. But i will give them a ring later too see if this is the case with visual mods aswell.

Give em' a ring and see what they say, personally i wouldn't bother. 17 and modding they will probably anal rape you.
