7 years I have now worked for the firm I am currently with.
They are a multi million dollar company yet in the 7 years they are yet to pay for 1 single Xmas night out.
This year they have gave in and decided to host one with a disco, buffet and money behind bar…gobsmacked.
Does you company pay for a Xmas night out and if they do what do you get

Exact same here. Very high profile company with a massive turn over. Yet they dont pay for the xmas meal/party. They usually put like £10 towards each member of staff but pick places where its like £60 a head.
Wouldnt want to be out with these dicks anyway.

When I worked at Morrisons they had this shitty xmas thing, everyone bar one or two people that worked there basically had down syndrome so didnt go...
Will probably just have a big meal with everyone this year, on the company. The company isnt massive so...

Tiger Tiger rented out, free piss up and meal, next day morning off and breakfast at local place.
Have things every few months, best one was pool party in Rio, free booze and food all day, live band unfortunatly no prostitues

The company i work for isn't massive, quite a small turn over
This year we're going to the hilton for a meal and a stay over (we need to pay for the room)
All food and drink is paid for though
Bunch of dicks so probably won't go

Company I work for throw money at stuff like this, even take you randomly for drinks in Leeds, Visa behind bar and drink has much as you like.
Our Xmas do is at the Hilton Hotel, full meal/drinks paid for which isn't bad I guess.
When I worked at Morrisons, you had to pay for yourself.

where i work they usually pay for a meal every christmas bout £30 quid each and every 4 years they get every branch up to a function room for a big party. not a big company either only about 5 million turnover a year. the thing i hate is this secret santa shit the women always make everyone do.

Way most companies are :wall:
If i we're a director i'd make sure my staff we're looked after, We get blagged by them all the time with them pleading poverty
Even though they insist on 5 series bmw's and 5-6 holidays a year, even though they told us they took a paycut to £15k a year lol!

We get the meal paid for, and there is 2 main managers who throw in about £300 + each for drinks! So we dont do to badly!! Plus, there is only 5 girls and 40+ men, hardly ever have to buy a drink on a work night out lol!

Haha exactly Tuppence, dont think the big wigs understand that in order to get there employees interested in caring for the company they need to pay them well in order to so.
I know its a bad way of looking at it, but thats just the way it is. In Morrisons we used to play cricket with lemons and baguettes because we didnt give a fuck about wasting work time and wasting a lemon and baguette in the process. Same theory with these more important jobs. If the employee thinks he is being cared for by the company, he will return the favour and care for the company...

Never had a free xmas party. The most we had was a free party when the place first opened but i was working that night so i didnt get down in time for food. Worked for ASDA and they only put a 5er towards the xmas party. They have a thing called the colleague circle and they are given so much each year to spend on the colleagues. It basicly goes towards new seats in the canteen and a TV. thats about it but i think they put some towards the Xmas party. I never went though

True that Robb, i do the work required of me at a pace they're used to - i blag work alot of the time and act busy
If they paid me a decent wage then i'd have a massive output, tried proving myself for ages now by nailing drawings out but they don't give a shit
Get what they pay for now, 9-5 internet

We have ours on the last day. Last 2 years we went into Guildford. Had a nice meal in one of the best restaraunts and then hung around in the bars. Drinks were all payed for. Just had to give them the tab numbers.
Small company again.
Prob won't be as mad this year. Credit crunch ffs.

then on xmas eve we all get a massive turkey!
When i used to work at Sainsburys (back in the day) i worked Xmas eve. The manager approached me and said take your pic from the Turkeys left as a reward for working hard etc.
Picked the biggest one up i could. I was on my moped so had to get my mum to drive around in the car to pick it up. Seriously think i'm still eating scraps off that bird. Was like a fooking ostrich!

Last year I missed the works do, but they were all taken for a massive 8 course meal at crown plaza hotel in notts, then they all went for drinks an headed upto the casino!
Summer meal was a indian resturant, followed by endless drinks :D and director took us all to oceana, 5 of us ended up sleeping in his "snug/kids sitting room" as it was closer back to.. were we carried on drinking!
This xmas is a 70s theme :n: 4 course dinner at holme peir point, night at hotel and then the next day were doing some random activity that hasnt been confirmed yet.

The xmas party is one thing my mate likes about working at cpw.
My xmas party will be depend on how much money there is in the bank at the time. Last year I paid the afternoon bill of the SSC Litten Tree goers, no going out by myself haha

It's one thing having good work parties. It's another thing if you actually (like me) don't like your workmates. This will be my 3rd year I won't be going to the xmas party. Part of me says I should go. But looking round at the faces I say Na.

Christmas looks like a good one for me...
I work a few days a week for a main dealership so will have the works do there, everything paid for etc, plus myself and a couple of other mates run our own businesses so we will no doubt be having some 'festive celebrations' :y:
