does it try to start? i.e. does it attempt to kick over, or when you turn the key does nothing happen at all?

ok guys thanks! - i have found this on a site- what do u reckon scott, worth a try!?
Turn the ignition on, green light on, Enter your 4 digit code, After the 4 beeps & 4 flashes from the green light enter C 0 C on the keypad.
Then turn the ignition off, get out shut the door & wait a minute.

well if immobiliser is working and not stopping the fuel being injected and when you turn the key nothing happens then either the immobiliser is playing silly buggers or the starter is dead as its the next link in hte chain

when my starter motor went the imobiliser was fine it even made the noise it makes - jst when i turned the key nothing would happen - erm i know this is naughty but try hitting it with a hammer and it might work lol

tryed it, didnt work, still dont start, it did seem to reset something in the immobilisor tho, maybe it is a HUGE co- insodence and the starter motor has gone at the sane time! smileys/smiley5.gif smileys/smiley5.gif smileys/smiley13.gif

i cant find the pic but il ask my dad in the morning lol - in the haynes manual it soes say this mind:
1. if the starter motor fails tom operate when the ignition key uis turned to the appropriate position, the following possible causes may be to blame:
a. the battery is faulty
b. the electrical connections between the switch, solenoid, battery and starter motor are somewhere failing to pass the necessary current from the battery through the starter to the earth
c. the solenoid is faulty
d. the starter motor is mechanically or electrically defective
i shall find out in the morning for you lol im off to bed

right i just asked my dad for you and its just behind the alternator- so you should have your alternator on the left hand side of the engine - so you can either do it by getting a hammer - putting it under the alternator but heading towards the back and give it a tap or dad said you can get to it sometimes by giving it a tap on the side.
hope that helps you
