I played the first one and thought it was ok but nothing spectacular.

compared to alot of shoot em ups imo its so much better.
You need a bit of skill, and the new one you need even more skill.
For me it stands out from the rest.

I meant how the series of games didnt really differ. But they're hardly massively different games.
