ok, i have got a set of gti wheels for the winter, and i was wondering if anyone had any problems fitting them to a saxo.
i trial fitted 2 onto my car today, and the inside of the wheel seem to be quite close to the bodywork of the car.
they are 195/50/15 tyres and the car isnt lowered if that makes a difference.
cheers:y:

ideally you want a 195/45 tyre on em
but a 50 is still ok

195-45, but the 50 profile shouldnt make a huge difference to how close they are,
for example with 50 profile R888s

personally im not a fan, but if it rains heavily at brands they have road tyres on for extra water dispersion.

got wheel nuts and all sorted, but though and behold, scrubbage at the back.
boy at the garage told me to get 10mm spacers, but then there wouldnt be any lip for the centre part of the wheel to sit on which would surely mean mega stress on the bolts.
going tomorrow to get 45 series tyres then hopefully i wont need spacers.
need to change my hub first as the boy who put the new axle in must have tightened the wheel nuts with a digger as the threads were damaged in 2 holes.
i heart saxos :(

What ?
I had 50 profile tyres on my 205 speedline. They went on no problem, no spacers etc....
Here is the evidence.

All i needed was the wheel bolts from a 205 gti. Simple easy mod.

was a bit too close to the body for my liking, put some 5mm spacers on just to give a wee bit more breathing room :)
