hey guys,
this is me 1st post ..... ha
right, problem started on monday, went 2 start the car and the immobiliser light started flashing, and wouldnt let me start the car, tried roughly 6times, and eventually it started!
anyhow, drove few miles ........ turned off engine, n tried it again, and it did the same thing ..... so i just left it fr an hour or so, got back to car and started fine!
was ok on monday night, no bother, but yesterday, the car just didnt want 2 start atal. havent tried it this morning yet!
recently had my ignition barrel changed, as last one totally snapped inside.
got it fixed at Citroen .... robbing *$%£S lol £360 notes!!!
would Citroen have played about with my immobiliser, and if so, would i have a chance they would sort the problem for me?
im useless with underneath of cars etc, any help would b greatly appreciated!
Thanks

well i guess i will reply to you darling lol
Ive told you how to have a crack at sorting it, if it will sort it or not is another matter.
If it doesnt, your best of going up to centreville up the road from you and explaining what has happend, with you just being down the road and not being able to move the car they may just pop dowe and have a look aswell.
Id come help, but yano....
Give me a bell when you get up aswell chick ;)

hey guys,. really need some help ... im in tears here :(
my immobiliser light keeps coming on, thus meaning i cant start my car.
i tried disconnecting my battery, then reconnecting, but that made no difference.
i took it to a "specialist" citroen garage on 6 nov .... told him what the problem was ...... and what i had done.
he changed my sparkplugs, and my sidelight  ..... the car however did start, so i payed the £55 :bump: and thought that was the end of it.
then on the weekend 8th nov, the car wouldnt start again, and the garage i used was shut, so i rang back on the monday, and he said it could be my immobiliser antenna/box ......
he collected it on the tuesday, and did the work ..... new immobilser box, and antenna, and charged me another £100 ........
me and the father were miffed, as i had already paid for work that didnt need done.
dad asked the bloke at garage few questions, like which trade association he belongs to, answer, none ....
anyhow, car has been ok since 11th nov, but just went to start it before, and the problem persists ....... im really fed up, feel sick to the stomach, and its really stressing me out!
rang the garage again, and he said he would get my car in the morning, as it could be a wiring problem.
i have just rang trading standards, who have sent me an email to log my complaint ....... they say that the job hasnt been looked at properly and with me paying £150, and it not to be working, the garage owner is in breach of fixing the problem and parts.
please guys, any info will be greatly appreciated, :y:
i dont have a clue about under the bonnet, and dont have anyone to turn to to help me! so f*&ckin annoyed :'(
thank you xxxx much love xxxx Sarah x

see im having the same sort of problems cause i done an engine change..but there is three parts to the immobiliser key. transpoder unit and ecu.. the key signal is sent to the unit behind the dash passenger side which is decoded and sent to ecu to turn on,, sum say this transponder unit can be taken out and ecu left unlocked.. im going to be trying this over xmas so if i have any luck ill let you know how to get this prob sorted :)

had this a few times with my vtr, it will be fine then another time flash! i just keep trying it. it did it today so i flicked the ignition and it sorted it. i no what the problem is tho, its the little coils thats around where you put your key in the barrel the little transponder wire is broken.
