it would probably cost you a good 5 grand to build your own car.
but get one which has had a couple of seasons.

its going to cost a fortune mate
you also need a good pit garage behind you for minor repairs etc. so you need to be friendly with people who know their stuff./
i assume you are in teh correct age catergory aswell?

do you mean you want to do karting or race in sax max? you cant do karting in a saxo fella. if its karting then apart from the kart you will need the following:
spare engine
wheels
overalls
trailer to attach to car
expenses for travelling
expenses for maintenance

you could ask your boss for advice, or if youre thinking about moving onto cars it would be a good idea to get a race licence and take it from there. call the MSA for a 'go racing' started pack and see if there are any circuits around you that do the ARDS test.

I race in stock hatch, and have been for 3 years now, i started off racing junior max, then moved to saxmax on the first year it was launched, you can build a very compettitive stock hatch car for 4k if you do most things yourself, i would recomend the class to anyone, it is the largest and most compettitive race class in the uk, with a guaranteed 60 compettitors at every event and we go to all the best uk tracks, silverstone, brands, mallory thruxton to name a few, also the cars are incredibly reliable if maintained well, also if you do ever have a problem with your car there is always someone there to help you with advice and most people will lend you parts you need, if you want any more info etc pm me :y:

We went up to brands hatch for a track day, was excellent, about 2 hours it took i think. In a 7.5 tonner towing a trailer...
Worth the trip and not too pricey out of season.
