If I remove one of the rear hubs on a 2002 Saxo VTS will the wheel bearing split and then need replacing (as with what happens on the front), or will I get away with putting it straight back on?

The reason I ask is that after stripping the drivers side rear brakes last weekend to hammer out a faulty ABS sensor, I could not get anything on it to properly smash it out because the hub is in the way... the sensor is now completely mullered and not moving so I gave up, and want to try again this weekend with the hub out of the way :p

Any help would be appreciated ;)

I have removed the rear hubs without damaging the bearings, make sure you buy a hub puller to remove them. Then tap them back on with a block of wood and a hammer. :y:

Cant understand why you are going to to great lengths to remove an abs sensor.

These are only very fragile and have an alloy outer casing so you should be able to pin punch these out.

This is exactly what i done, had no problems in removing them.

If you are planning on changing the bearings anyway then fair do's

Tried that mate but its seized in good and proper, I've done a few front ones on Saxos now and they're easy, but theres not much room around the rear sensor and its hard to get anything on it tbh

Hmm seems strange mate as mine were also seized in place but managed to get them out using a pin punch.

Have you tried cutting the outer casing out using a hacksaw blade?

Havn't thought of that tbh, I'll try it if theres space as I'd rather not take the hub off if I can help it lol

Thanks mate :y:
