Cambelt

Hi there,

I've got a cambelt kit for a VTR MK2 silver top.

Will it fit a Mk1 black top vice-versa?

ring a auto factors and ask them if there is any difference in the two belts between the different years, other than that just count the teeth on the belt and check the teeth are the same.

There are two different typres of belts, but I can't remember whether it was a difference between alloy and iron block, or earlier iron block and later iron block (98bhp VTR)

I think the later iron blocks had a different water pump, which could explain the difference, but I'm not 100% sure on that. I know the alloy blocks have a different water pump to the iron so that might explain the difference in belt length if one had a bigger pulley than t'other.

The earlier ones were 101 teeth anyway.
