does that mean you want to start your own policy next year and not be on your dads?
Thats very expensive even on your dads.
where have you looked?
I always use moneysupermarket.com.
try adding dad/mum, both or none
i was paying 1300 on my own policy on my first year of driving on a 1.1 forte.

try bell.com, admiral.com and elephant.co.uk and put down your mum and dad as named drivers. Should get a quote around 1500, i did a quote 2200 for a 106 gti when my mate had just passed his driving test at 17 using this method.

i'm with admiral and they like having older women on the policy as named drivers. when i added my mum to mine it almost halved the quote.

try confused.com and adrian flux. my re-newal is this month and adrian flux were the cheapet. the problem with admiral as they give a good qoute online but charge excessive interest to pay monthly in comparison to other companies
