Has the vts seats got side airbags? If so you wont need the wire that comes with the seat
I cant see why the pretensioner connector dont fit, they are all the same

I think your getting a bit mixed up maybe?
The connector under the seat is brown right? And one single orange
The orange goes into the seat belt pretensioner (where you plug your seat belt into)
The brown connector plugs into the other brown connector under the seat
It sounds like your are trying to plug the orange into the brown which is wrong

the pre tensioners arent just for the side airbags
there there for the drivers airbag too and the passenger if you have a vts or had it as an optional extra

i had the same problem with my gti non airbagged seats . the connecters wouldnt fit each other, i jus swapped the connecters with the one of the original mk1 vtr seats. the orange wire should have a grey and pink wire i think. i soldered the wires together to make sure they wouldnt come apart

you can just cut the plug off them and join them together. there`s no voltage in these wires its just a resistance. so it doesn`t even matter which wire goes to what. or if you prefer you can take the pretensioner off the old seats and fit to the new ones and it will just plug in.

Thank you very much you two you are stars!!!!! so i can just strip the wires solder them together and place them in a two way connector thing :y:
Brilliant and your 100% sure it doesn't matter which goes into which?
Will do this and make a guide :P

assuming the seats didn`t come out of a crashed car then the pretensioners will be fine. if they did come out of a crashed car then swap the tensioners over. as they won`t be any good. your airbag light will stay on. oh and doesn`t matter which way they go. take the battery off when doing this. so when the seats are connected up, battery back on there`s no faults when started.
ps- i think there is a guide for swapping pretentioners over.

iirc you put a resistor in the plug going back on its self

he won`t need to though as the pre-tensioners are fine on his old seats, and possibly fine on the new seats. so the resistors aren`t needed
