Getting The Rev' Counter To Work

ive got a 1.1 and as some of you will know it comes with a big ass stupid clock instead of a rev counter. So i changed the clocks to a VTR set, how ever the oil gauge and the rev counter doesnt work, and ideas how to get them working?????

Have they been wired up properly

did literally a straight swap mate, so could be wrongly wired before hand...dont know
