is it worth it tho saxo's have dropped in price so much its not worth much more then 1500 if it was clean and would need a grand spent to make it clean.

If it was me and i was getting all the labour done for free i would put the car back on the road. I think if it needed a new cam i would take the opportunity and buy an uprated one while i was on. You have allready suggested replacing the shocks and springs with uprated parts. This is another good idea because your going to be replacing them anyway so you might aswell put better ones on. Apart from the cam shaft and suspension the anti roll bar is probably going to be the next most expensive thing to fix. Side windows should be pretty cheap from a scrap yard or a Citroen breakers. All you need to do then is sort out the body work side of things.

oh i see what you mean cam and fan belt not cam and fan belt :D. Its just the way i read it. So whats the deal with the cam belt then ? Did it snap or is it just due to be replaced because of mileage ?

Fix it, its not that bad really, and if you know people who can do it for cheap labour? Then its all good.
All the fuss of breaking it and getting another car would be an effort aswell. Fixing it at least you know its fixed and should be ok for some time to come (hopefully)

It is a good idea to get it replaced yes. I had mine done on the VTR and it cost £100 supply and fit, which i thought was reasonable at the time. A fan belt is pretty cheap aswell, especially if your getting the labour done for free.
Like i said i would put the car back on the road myself :y:

Fix it for definite, use some womanly charm to persuade someone to do the jobs for you, depends how much money you've got to throw at it mind.
Like everyone else is saying though, LOVE the wheels!! :D
Edit: Just read the thread again and realised you've got someone who can do the work. Get some of them parts from a scrappy then stuff like the cambelt (£30 for full kit), fan belt (£3) and the gasket from a motor factors.
