Anyone on it?

Due an upgrade on O2 soon, but quite like the Blackberry Storm as decided with work etc I want a phone that has e-mail/internet but O2 don't offer unlimited messages on the iPhone (which I currently have) so Vodafone is looking the better option.

I know Graeme will be best to answer, but fire away!

Cheers.

Yeah, I noticed the 1GB which is shit but MicroSD would sort that out.

Still an added price.

The fact it doesnt even have wifi is even worse...

Luke

Oh...I thought it did have WiFi has it mentioned 3G Internet connection so guessed that is what it was.

Grrr...I need something with WiFi but doubt O2 would honour my unlimited messages on an iPhone.

Robb

Nope lol, 3G is pretty quick but not as quick as wifi, also wont be as strong signal in most cases.

Do you really need 3,000 texts lol?

Yeah thats what I got, £25 tariff and unlmited text bolt on of £7.50 a month. Think the limit is 3k.

Luke

Didn't think they did one on the iPhone?

How do you rate the iPhone? I'd rather have the Blackberry for looks tbh!

Ah right...it's because you can't view that information on O2 website as you cannot buy online IIRC.

Tbh...just looking at the iPhone it doesn't appeal to me as a phone.

Graeme
10th November 2008, 15:43
you can add unlimited texts for 7.50 a month on o2 luke

the storm deal that i thinks best is the 40.00 a month one where you get 600 mins unlimited texts and unlimted free internet and email

if im honest though the storm is pretty good phone but i love my iphone

Like I say, iPhone doesn't appeal to be tbh - I do like it, but want something different.

I know you work for Vodafone, but what is it like? I have been with O2 for like 5 years now.

I wish orange would realease a decent 'iphoney', as I want to stay with them for the lack of hassle factor but most of the phones they have are shit...

Graeme
10th November 2008, 15:47

Vodafone have done a good job at bringing out a rival to the iPhone, however not putting Wifi on it is pretty amateur...

Luke
10th November 2008, 16:10
Yeah, getting Wifi on it would of been better.

Can't decide now lol.

Right....

Serious Feedback now.

If you are on Vodafone, what are they like?
Customer Service good?
Coverage etc?

I want a Storm phone, 99% decided but I want to make surer I'm making right decision leaving O2 because I have been with them for 5 years.

the storm will be available on other networks soon anyway, you'll be able to get better deals than with voda probably

they only have the exclusive rights for a month

Do they?

In the other thread I wasn't impressed with it tbh!

Heard today that Orange are making a Blackberry equivalent that includes Wifi.

Might be worth waiting till your contracts up anyway regardless?

Yeah, gonna wait now anyway and see what happens as nothing is jumping out at me at the moment, but I want a phone with e-mail/internet that is for sure.

yeah well we had someone come in yesterday and ask for it, my manager said they only have the exclusive rights for a month and after that most networks will do it - giving you a better chance of getting the best deal

o2 do the best deal currently on the bold, so it might be worth hanging out if you really want it because you might be able to stay with them and still get it

Luke
17th November 2008, 17:09
I'd like to stay with O2 aslong as they do a similar contract to what I have already got.

Looked into Vodafone contract earlier, wasn't that impressed either with them.

ive had some good and bad experiences with vodafone

ive had to speak to a few people over the phone / in store recently, and it seems when one person finnaly helps me, the info isnt put onto the system, so nobody else knows and im back to square one.. seems like bad communication between the workers..

i wanted to change my phone as i was legally within my 14 day cooling off period, but had to speak to 5 people, all of them had different answers, and its only just been resolved by speaking to a manager at customer service, allthough i had to send my old phone off, and they still havnt sent me the new one yet!

sometimes, people are more than happy to help though

if you want a blackberry, get the bold: £35 - 18 months - 600mins - unltd texts - unltd interwebz

Just wrote a whole essay on vodafone for uni!

Basically they are the best coverage wise but the most expensive. And i wouldn't reccommend the storm. Much better phones out there, new sony ericsson just got released with an 8.1 mp camera and loads of other features. I think customer service is good too.
