After getting my renewal through on Friday, i phoned CKI to see if they can beat it...

Renewal from MyMotorQuote.com 942.95 TPF+T, if i pay direct debit, £121.34 9 monthly payments, i end up paying £1092.06

CKI quote, £834.99 TPF+T, again, if i pay direct debit, £234 straight off, then £65.97 for 10 months, resulting in a total of £894.64

Lucky me, i have enough to pay it off on a 1er, saving me £107.96 from MyMotorQuote.com...I will be phoning up shortly to confirm that i wish to take insurance else where, and then phone CKI to get the paper work sorted :)

Very Helpful on the phone, quite chatty aswell...very good customer service which is what i look out for when phoning a company (used to work in a call centre, so know what to look out for ;))...Paul is the bloke i spoke to...got my reference number ready to have that quote...

I phoned other company back to see if they could beat it...they cant...i have looked else where and CKi is cheapest by about £20...

Above quote is for -

20year old male
2 years NCB
No Convictions (motoring or other)
No Claims
2 years driving
1 year of driving the VTR
I am the only driver
Car parked on my drive at night

Thought i would let everyone know :y:

they couldnt compete with my renewal. was because of the insurance broker they use is the one i had already so would be fighting a no win battle etc.

good helpful guys tho. might have to give them a ring for insurance on my 306

didnt phone them today...glad i didnt...can challenge them with this quote...btw, it was TPF+T quote...

dont get how they give me a worse quote when i got better stats..

2 Years NCB
2 Years 1 Month Driving
Driving VTR for 1 year 1 month
NO POINTS

TS10 is a high risk area...DL1 isnt i dont believe

Adding mum will do fuck all Jimo as she doesnt drive, thought you would have figured out now when she keeps telling you to come here to visit...adding dad might make it worse...6 points, did have 9 3 or 4 months back...so would have thought naturally it would have got worse...

I'm with chriss knott and I can't reccomend them enough, every person I have spoke to has been really friendly and talkative, I've had several quotes for what I'd like to do with the car to take note in the price change in excess and instead of going "yep it will be an increase in such a such" then dismissing it they took note for when I rang again and included the older "what if I added this modification" to the new excess.

Good price and helpful, haven't heard of anyone actually going through them after an accident yet so I'm waiting for that to see how they cope, but with 25+ years of experience I should hope they're fine :y:

Think TS10 is the conviction code for the 3 points, not his postcode:y:

TS10: Failing to comply with traffic light signals

Just that only NI brokers are allowed to quote you, not us GB brokers! Nothing to do with the 'type' of area you reside.

thats funny i was with elephant for 3 years,so they only quote n.i. ?

Tim-ChrisKnott

Maybe but our insurers have a gentleman's agreement with NI brokers.

Just a quick note to thank those of you who have tried the club insurance scheme.

In March, we have recorded our best ever week for club 'business' - nearly double that of our previous record set in February, which was remarkable in itself! I had to recheck the figures myself!

This is all due to the fact that people on sites like this have rung us & taken out policies. We must be doing something right!

Just to let you know our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am till 5pm & Saturday morning, 9am till noon.

(Please don't forget to quote the club scheme reference number when you ring for a quote).

1 of which was me!

Not through this shitty site though.

Through ClioSport.

FAO most people on here... I seriously recommend you give these guys a call before you just renew your policy with your current insurers.

100% top marks from me and most other people who ive spoke to about them

Really good customer service though.

So possibly even though I'm a member on here and drive a 307, you might be able to beat it?

Danr

They were fine with me Luke. Very good in fact. £3 more expensive than Flux.

Only reason i might not use them is the initial deposit. Wouldn't be an issue but i'll be skint next month.

i tried them, 37 year old, full no claims married, one child, car garaged overnight and less than 7K miles a year. Couldnt beat my renewal as i said i use the car once a month to compete in sprints. even though i accepted the cover wouldnt stretch to the event, they got all nervous and said i could damage the car on the track and say i did it on the road.

Worth noting if you take part in drag racing, track days or any form of driving that doesnt cover you. It may be a possible 'non payout' way out for the insurance compnay if you dont declare it.

Quite dissapointed really as i normally use clubs chemes but the quote they gave me was more than my brand new 58 plate 1 series BMW fully comp!!!

Hot off the press!

In 2009 so far, we have saved our new customers a recorded average of £60 (£60.10 to be exact!) off their BEST quote, not just their renewal price, but their BEST quote!
In fact, so successful is the scheme that we have taken on additional staff & next week we have a meeting to look at taking on further personnel!

So, if your insurance is due in the next few weeks, please give us a call freephone on 0800 917 2274 (or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile) and don't forget to state the club reference number found either in my signature or in my introductory post when we first set up the scheme. Insurers find that club/forum users are better 'risks' statistically so make sure you mention the club!

Don't forget to check the criteria you must adhere to, e.g. age, etc.
