Hi, my bf replaced my the idle control valve yesterday and ever since then when i first switch the car on the engine auto-diagnostic light comes on for one second or two then disappears. so it is never actually on when i am driving, it only lights up when i first switch the car on then goes out straight away. i just read in the manual that a few lights, including this one should light up when the key is turned to position M, and if they dont light up it could mean a problem, so should i not really be worried?

No all the lights switch on when you start the car so you can see all the bulbs are working so if they come on when driving you know there is a problem.

oh i see, i didnt know that, coz ive never seen this light before, like i said it only started after my bf replaced the idle control valve/stepper motor on sunday coz it was completely broken so that musta been why this light had never appeared before do you think?

if it is coming on, after a complete drive cycle should sort it if not jus get it read incase there are any errors stored, normaly when an error is stored, the light is on all time, is it idling ok now?
