Im having a de-cat and backbox when i get paid and everyone said the noise will get annoying after a while so i was wandering how much sound proofing i would need to do the whole car and how much it would be?
Thanks

The extra weight the sound proofing would add you may as well leave your cat on

It would cost alot mate. You can get soundproofing at your local halfrauds but the whole car would cost a few hundred i'd expect.

Not really mate, what exhaust will you be using? I had a vtr with decat and backbox and it wasn't stupidly loud/ enough to affect me.

I had magnex de-cat and backbox.

ive seen a supersprint decat and i think i might keep the standard backbox.
Will it still be raspy with the standard manifold and backbox??

Supersprint are pretty loud exhausts man. It's prob. not worth just having a de-cat imo.

It's jjust something to live with. Do you know any other saxo's with exhausts?

LMFAO!!

Sorry but come on mate!!

In your other thread your wanting your car as loiud as you can possibly get it to set peoples car alarms off.

Now your worried about it being to loud and "ANNOYING" for yourself lol

Classic, really just classic!!!

But yea, jason posted up some good sites for it :y:

lol fair enough :y:

but put it this way, im not chav, not vandal, no scum bag.

BUT if you wer my neighber or lived in my street and drove up and down liek an idiot all the time, trying to set car alarms of and jst being a dick, i would personaly rip your exhasut off ans shuv it down your neck.

So be expecting that tbh, as it will happen if you take the piss!

Like my car is VERY loud, and does set car alarms off (not that i do it on purpose) but say when i come in from work at 11:30pm i role down the street in neutral so i dont wake everyone.

i can see you just going flat out. expect to see damage to your car if this is how your going to act.

Like said tho, filling your car with sound deadenin will not be cheap, tbh, its not that loud from inside the car IF you still have all your interior in, it only gets REALLY loud when you strip the fook out of it :)

LOL. Tbh i only want it loud so its noticed. The whole alarm thing was just an idea off top gear. Because its got no visual mods at the moment to make it in anyway diferent to everyone elses saxo.

Well that is a fair coment, who doesnt want to be noticed!

Ive had ALOT of attention since i got my full system completed lol!

But there is a nice loud and just a terrible loud.

Like said a manifold, centre sectin and a GOOD backbox will sound nice, but you wont want to be making it sound like a tank in the process!

Dont worry about it being to loud in car though, with all your interior in its not to bad

my peco backbox was too deafening for the rear passengers, so under the boot carpet put a layer of ivanhoe sound deadening, layer or fibreglass loft insulation (lol) and a layer of carpet underlay then the carpet over that, reduced the sound quite well i'd say
