Car Won't Start!!!!!

Basically I came upto a roundabout yesterday, put the clutch in and it cut out. When i tried to start it up again the battery seemed really drained and it wudnt start. After pushing the car into a car park we got some jump leads on it which made the car turn over properly but it wud not start.
I know fuel was getting in cos there were occasional little pops and then quite a big pop lol which i presume was the fuel igniting.

Any ideas?????

Batter losing charge? Alternator not charging the battery?

Get them both tested.
