Right, So i finally saved up enough money to lower my car and get sum nice vtr wheels, and yesterday morning i was driving to school and a very high pitched squeel came from my car, no matter what speed i was goin, the sound was still there. i took it home, asked my dad to come out and drove it up and down the road a few times to see what he thought it was. and he said it sounded like my brakes had hit bare metal.
so i took it down to kwik fit, and after they had had it for 4 hours they said:
id need new rear wheel bearings, new rear shoes, and 2 new rear brake fluid cylinders, costing a total of £295.50

well i used to work in a garage for work experience so took it to my old boss, he managed to get the price down to £180, i asked him to have a quick look inside my bonnet just for a quick check. he looked at my timing belt and said that it wouldnt have lasted another month, and that it was best to get it changed (cars just coming to 60k)

so altogether its £260, everything that i had saved to get it lowered and the alloys on :( GUTTED!

there is no way you can tell how old a cambelt is or how long it will last from looking at it, iv known people to have a car thats done 90 000 miles and never changed it and its still going but its a risk. just go by how many years its been fitted or the miles.
