I've had no problems for the last 18 months, but yesterday when I started the car the tickover was "lumpy" it was going from 900rpm to about 1500rpm and back, on its own.:n:
but this is the queer thing since I've had the car its always seemed to hit a dead spot at 65 to 70 mph, but now since the tickover problem it accelerates like a rocket, and pulls away faster.
A mate said it could be the lamda or the air control valve, what do you think? I dont want to go to citroen as they will charge £80 to run the diagnostic and say "no fault found"
Any input would be welcome:clapping:

the bad tick over could be the idle control valve which your mate said, i know lambda could cause it to to idle funny, but unsure if it would make it lumpy.

not sure about the flatspot either

why not try ringin up garages around and seeing how much they charge for diagnostics? the citroen in pompey charges 30 quid an hour for diagnostics, yet the one near me in darlington charges 70, so well worth just asking around, you will find other non specialist garages may have diagnostics, but they may only be able to get the code, but im sure once you had code someone will be able to tell you what it is

You'd no if it was the lamba as it would just drink Petrol

My first shout would be IDLE control valve remove, clean it with some carb cleaner and replace

check the earth points.

Seems to be very common at the moment :S
would clean the icv etc while your at it.

If it was lambada sensor, the engine light would be on.
