they dont chase you, they only chase you if its a traffic cop and he's in the car, if he was stood out the car with a hand held its usually a letter through the post within 2 weeks..

I had the very same thing happen to me the other week. I'm not sure what speed I was doing but they looked like they were going to come after me but they left it. That was about 3 weeks ago now.
Fingers crossed nothin will come of it.

with the hand held ones they dont take pictures so how can they send you a letter? theres no proof.
with handheld they wave you over if your speeding or if they are sat in car they will follow you

Yates is right folks, with a hand held speed gun the Police can't prove who it was driving. Think about the hundreds of motorists that probablly use that road, and with out the Police taking down every single vehicle's Registration plate and car make and model then no action can be taken against you.
If it had been a police officer in their car with the hand held speed gun then they can follow you and pull you over and give you a £60 fine and 3 points on your licence on the spot.

*EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH* wrong.
Some of the more hightech ones can trace your numberplate with the same technology as numberplate recognition.
So depending on the type of gun used, you may have been caught
oh and the fine isn't on the spot usually these days

down on the road where i drive up to work, they have a cop standing there with his speed gun, and then further up the road, two police bikes, and two t5s pulling the speeders over..

Dad got caught by a zapper, same thing. He got a letter in the post within a week and that was in a company van.. 38MPH in a 30mph. he says he can't see how he would do it but you can;t deny it :S

If you didn't get pulled then you're ok, the radars' are just a speed indication device to alert the officer how fast you're travelling.
It doesn't take a pic of your plate or anything, only the mobile camera's which are in the back of vans do that
