so basically i was 17, and i was driving a 1.2 clio. life was good, i had my first car and the world was mine for the taking, well thats how it felt. anyways.
BAD TIMES ! my sister stack my clio on the motorway. bye bye clio (shep) me and shep had good times.
and then came along
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t99/bellair89/vtr1.jpg
my VTR. suddenly i found my self becoming addicted to anything saxo.
cut a long story short i LOVED that car, and i made a big ERROR.
i sold it and got a 2.0L zetec focus. yeh its sweet, its fast, smooth blah bla blah, but it misses one of the most important things for me. FUN. i dnt feel like a 12 year old boy when i drive my focus, i feel like i should have a baby on board sticker and a fold out pram.
so enough is enough. i have saved and saved. and im getting my saxo back! well not mine some old lady has it now, but im getting a VTS. stripping it out and turning it into a track car, what are your opinions on making a vts into a track car, and if so, any ideas what you would do to it?
sorry for the essay, but meh!

You don't have a progress thread because it does not excist, I know your type. You go around the car forums.. select nice parts of other engines and add them to your spec list.
Random fact... i love fizzy haribo.

vts, upgrade the brakes, and suspension.
add a decent cage and some buckets.
learn to drive fast on track then think about going bigger power. can be done on a budget easily.

I'd advise doing a couple of trackdays and then improving what you feel needs improving before you go into it all guns blazing. Everyone has different driving styles etc..

Bar the brake setup a standard VTS is a pretty ideal base for a cheap fun track day for a novice.
not tear your face off quick,
nippy. Handle well, easy to get a feel for being quite a raw car.
