If she knows the meaning of an eternity ring then you'll confuse hell out of her by getting her one. Why not just get her a nice ordinary ring. Find out which gem symbolises her star sign and get one with that in it??? Just as thoughtful and will probably earn you brownie points :)

My boyfriend bought me a commitment ring for our first xmas together. I wear it on my engagement finger which confuses people sometimes lol. It's a trilogy ring like hellonpluto mentioned. It's white gold with 3 pink sapphires in a row and 3 tiny diamonds each side of the 3 stones set in the band. I love it. If we get engaged I'd probably just keep this one lol
