power steering power supply

does anybody know what the voltage the power steering pump should be getting? i'm getting 14.2 volts which is the same as what the battery is with the engine running, is this right? sorry if its a bit of a daft question but it seems a bit high to me!!!!

think thats about right mate not sure where supply comes from but when i had the fan belt off mine power steering would not work so if it is supplied from alternator that would be why its at that voltage
