ive been on about getting a cheap buffer/polisher for a while now as im not wanting like a machine polisher to remove all the hair line scratches ete, just summing to buff the megs wax that i have, so today i got a cheap 12v hand held polisher from halfords that just plugs into the cigarette lighter, i was expecting it to be shit reli but it just isnt! nice speed and motion, and i have a week car battery so i was expecting the car to have trouble starting but it didnt,
anyways it was getting a bit dark but i wanted to give it a try so i polished the bonnet and the roof, from the little amount of light i had i could see that it had brought a good shine to the bonnet so i was happy with it, the problem was to the end of the bits i had polished it kinda stoped buffing and starting spreading the wax about like the other pad, is this because i used to much polish or i didnt let it dry enough/? and also any other tips would be great.
thanx

I've got the 12v one, seems alright, only used it twice though, preffer to do it by hand, elbow grease ftw.

me too mate.
wigan - you will have just filled the scratches with the polish as it will have acted as a glaze. chances are you will have had the same result if you had done it by hand.
the wax could have started spreading again due to the wax not been left to cure long enough, the buffer pad had got 'bogged down' with the dry wax and/or the atmosphere had some damp in it so the wax couldnt dry
