Currently got a Citroen C4 1.4, which really doesn't cut the mustard, if you know what I mean. Not quick, not really that big, not really economical, still expensive road tax, even though it's a 1.4.
Was thinking about getting shut after xmas and getting a Mondeo ST estate, but came across this (http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/FORD+MONDEO/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-22-41-51-59-62-240-4294967084-4294967194/advert.action?R=200845322739334&distance=3&postcode=ls1+6ax&channel=CARS&make=FORD&model=MONDEO&min_pr=&max_pr=8000&max_mileage=60000) today and off to view it tomorrow with a view to chopping in the C4.
Saloon ST TDCi in silver. Rare! What we think?

0-60 is quicker than a standard VTR. It's the torque where it's at though - enough to pull a house down (or a trailor with a track car on it)
Combined MPG figures are iro 45 mpg, so I will expect 35-37 realistically, which is still better than we're getting on the C4

Pretty good then, and fast for the size.

Was looking for an estate but thought it was a bit of overkill for our requirements - and they are more expensive :n:

cant see link, but sounds good.
Get a cheap trailor and use it to tow one of the cars. (gives you an excuse to not be so pansy on the shell :P)

In black and you're onto a winner craig, that said maybe a bit of variation is needed on the drive so black may be a bad idea.
Love the ST Mondeo, definetlly worth the money. But a 1.4 C4? What were you thinking??? :panic:

I will never own another black car (unless I get offered a panther black Escos at a stupid low price). As for the C4 we got a deal we couldn't refuse and thought it would be ideal for the missus. How wrong!

Bastard to keep clean, which is why I was on the look out for either a silver or sky grey mondeo

Sat in the st220 (3.0 v6) saloon that was very comfy imo, the diesel would be better than your c4.

HAd considered the petrol version. DIEsel is same apart from engine, but quite a bit cheaper to tax, run and insure

Whore in general sounds about right.. tbh
im not really a whore.. i just like to give that impression
Craig would the fuel consumption/tax work out any better though as it is such a large car?

Stay away from the petrol he was only averaging 25mpg.

lol, ive just been looking at the exact same one!
the ST's are ok, they do pulled very well but the derv's dont seem as responsive as the petrol ones (to be expected).
Ive had both as company hire cars and on the motorway you cant tell the difference but they are very comfy and nice to drive.
go for it, most people that drive Audi's are wa*ker's lol
