I was driving to work this morning and thought i'd keep an eye out for any modded motors. I saw one which was an evo. That's literally it.
Does changing the cd player pass as modding?

they didnt exactly show how you can modify a car properly.
you could easily modify lots of different cars to be quicker than an evo10 for less than half the price of an evo10.
you could probably make a saxo quicker for a quarter of the price. at least round a track if not in a straight line.
they didnt really show how they spent the money except going overkill on the brakes.

they didn't do any engine mods.. they done pretty good imo... apart from huge breaks then having to get bigger alloys lol...

brakes were overkill. Tyres should have been bought properly the first time round. Either they didnt know what they were doing or theyre trying to make people like us frustrated lol

No,
it was cleaned and serviced.
Clarkson fitted a manifold and exhaust system.
Hardly a full on engine mod.

I dont get how they expected it to be quicker? Its got less power, more weight, and worse handling. :S
As said, brakes were overkill, shoulda gone for some Clio V6 brakes or something, a lot cheaper. Shoulda stripped it too. lol.
But yeah, that 900 million will include cd players (could be part of a big install).

so you think they gained 50ish bhp from a service, manifold and exhaust?
i doubt it.

always looking to moan about modders as stated so they were obviously going to make a tits up of it to try and prove some bullshit that modifying our cars is pointless lol
i think they had the heads skimmed too.
would love to put some of the quickest modified saxo's around there track to prove that it's not

They did, the thingh standard was meant to be 210bhp and was no way near that, so they had a service and rebuilt most of the engine and just give it a general clean
Prickle
18th November 2008, 13:57
they showed the results on a rolling road thingy, before 154 (or 7) bhp than after the engine got tinkered with it was 210 bhp

depends how unserviced the engine was... imagine you've got clogged up injectors, coked up pistons, oil that's older than the dinosaurs (and probably shitty semi-synthetic) and an airfilter that's dirtier than a newborns nappies. It's going to take it's toll on the engine power. Notice how the engine 'only' got back 206hp compared to the rated 210hp... it actually shows why it's so critical to keep the engine regularly serviced because once you start mistreating the engine... it starts getting expensive to get the power back again.
