COD5 online issues..

Right so my ps3 is connected to internet through a wireless connection from a netgear router. And never have issues getting on ps3 online and online gaming, it runs fine on all games i got except GTAIV it plays up.

Anyway, on COD5 ive been playing online fine and no issues, but when my mate tries to send me an invite or i try to send him one, it says that the game no longer exists. And he has the same internet connection as me and again no issues with online gaming by himself.
But we used to play on Burnout all the time online and never had problems.
Could anyone help or have the same issues?

that was a problem with me with COD4. a group of my mates cant connect to one another on this one for some reason. it just doesnt allow some connections.

I know but why. There must be an easy answer because the connection is there and i can play with people in America to Australia etc. then why cant i connect to my mate 5 miles away? must be something to do with the inviting system or something?
I cant get my head around it.
