hello everyone im having trouble finding the remote lead on the cd player, could someone point me in the right direction, instructions on cd player say remote wire is blue with white stripe, i used the exsisting wiring (plug in connectors) from citreon cd player, so which one is the remote wire. thanks

you mean the iso connector?
the colour should be the same

either blue with white stripes like you say. Or just a blue one.
maybe have 'rem' or something on it.

so you didnt use the units plug in lead? if not you will have to identify the ignition live to the stereo or from anywhere else and tap into that.

right, did the stereo not come with a loom that would plug between the stereo and the car loom?

if not then your going to have to get a mulitmeter or a bulb circuit tester. Use that to id the ignition live wire to the stereo and tap into it to get the the remote turn on to worksmileys/happy.gif

my stereo came with a ISO connector thing,

ISO connector with wires in both ones, but no ISO connector on the end of the wires. so i had to use the origional wiring loom.

aha, gonna have to get the multimeter/bulb tester out to ID the correct wire, it will be on the bottom plug on the car loom, the one with the lesser wires present

i dont have a multimetre/bulb tester!! when i do find the wire how i connect it in?

carefully cut some of the insulation and solder the remote wire to the loom, or if you want to bodge strip the remote and wrap it round and tape it

well i thought id take a shot at a wire, took the indervidual one, to thin so i accedently cut it. so i spliced it then twisted em bak together put the remote lead on too, now it all worked fine for a while, but the amp didnt turn off when i shut the battery off, then the bass started turning very fussy asif it was shaking a load of sand or something, now my CD player turns on then quickly turns back off, and my central locking doesnt work.... whats went on?

im going to take it to motorworld 2morro see if they'll sort it for me.

disconnect the wire you have attatched and see if that fixes your locking, no real reason why it would be affecting it though. Its really not best to guess wire work

ive soldered the wire back together and took the remote lead out, central locking is still not working tho, either is the CD player, think i may of blew the fuse in cd player i thort maybe the remote central locking button had lost battery life but usually when u turn the key to lock it wud lock both sides.... now i have to lock both sides indervidually... weird.
