I have a Saxo VTR R reg, I'm up in Chester, Cheshire - N West UK. Recently a garage told me that the "CV boot" had gone on the front drivers side. A couple of weeks later the steering got slightly shaky so I took the wheel off and the hub, that the wheel was connected to, just dropped down to the floor by 4-5 inches. So I'm thinking the drive shaft has come off or slipped out? The metal arm that is connected to the suspension, above the wheel but just below the shocker, just bent slightly. I loosened the nut off to take any pressure off. I dont know if the drive shaft has come away from the engine as I'm a bit thick to say the least when it comes to my pride and joy. At the moment the wheel is no longer on the car as the drive shaft is lower than it should be. For some reason I cant find a mechanic who is interested in fixing my car and getting a nice earner.
Basically has anyone got any advice to help me diagnose the problem?
Does anyone live close to me who could either assist me with a diagnosis or even to fix it for me? Maybe you have a mate who might want to help out, and I'll pay for his time.
My request maybe a long shot I know but I dont want to lose my car and getting a cab to work and back is proving costly. I know where a back end smash Saxo is and the front suspension and drive shafts are there for me. The last 2 garages ripped me off and I just dont know where to turn.
I'll be checking back here regular so if you have any questions you may want to ask, please ask away.
Incidentally I followed your guide on how to customise a Saxo interior, adding a nice shade of silver to the black dash and it looks mint. So guys, you f****in rock.
TIA for your help and suggestions.
