So how much did you pay?
How big is your memory?
How much memory have you used?
Link to where you got yours from?
Its about time i get myself one and im not sure how much memory i should get. Ideas and thoughts on a post card.
It will only be used for photos (hence why it is in this section)

I've got
320Gb 2.5" SATA external drive - £70 (approx 60Gb left)
320Gb 3.5" IDE external drive £100 (50Gb left) (Both above via USB)
400Gb SATA NAS enclosure (totalling ~£80) (160Gb free)
and a new 2Tb file server on the go - old server is turned off awaiting data transfer (about 900Gb)
and to answer your question, yeah 500Gb will be enough for your needs.

on the IDE drive is all my downloads, then games, films, music, installers (drivers/software)
the SATA drive is for adobe premier editing and unedited footage
The NAS drive is the network media server (music etc) and all the pcs on the network are backed up onto there.
The new server is to hold more media, as well as everyones documents etc... and it'll also be encoding video
The file server that is currently off then holds a backup of everything on the other drives..

I have a 1TB hard drive, its a network drive.
I want something a little smaller though like a 500gb to plug in and use. So when i download the photos they go straight on to the drive along with any edits.
