I have a problem with my saxo gears box when i drive and let go with the throtle i get this thumbing noises and when i press a little on the throtle it goes why is this
aint sure wut it is drive shaft? bearings gone? or gear box? oh yeah when i take the car out of gear on dont touch the throtle i get no noise only when its in gear and no throtle?
please any one help me ...

a thumbing noise ???? if its a humming/rubbing when slowing down but goes away when on the power it sounds like a gearbox bearing. i've just had that done on mine.

if it is bearings, which it may not be then unfortunately yes. you have to either put a new/reconditioned box on or recondition your old one. either way it takes ages & the labour costs as much if not more than the parts. smileys/smiley5.gif

Aint sure wit it is bearings or the end float on a certain shaft maybe a circlip on it?

i have same problem i was told simple i need a new gear box not right away but its will only get worse i found a place will fit it for £60 but they are like 200-300 new! u could get 1 from brakers but u never know if its gonna be as bad as 1 u got then u wasted 50 odd
