Router?!

Just got a D-Link Gaming Router and connected it to my Modem (Modem is USB Type) and connected everything up...And a message comes up saying "IP Address Conflict"..And the ADSL Light on the Modem is flashing and the ADSL Line is down! And apperently I can type in a certain address in the Internet Web Browsr Tab to configre the settings and still dont work?!

surely the router has a built in modem and youd be looking at connecting to your pooter via ethernet?

Right...
..The Modem is normally connected to an ADSL Filter and is USB Powered and the Router connects this blue "patch" cable from the LAN Port on the ROuter to the Ethernet port on the comp, then the cable from the modem is going to the Router and the message comes up "IP Address Conflict"....
