I find that 37" is an odd size to go for, can always get better deals at 22" 32" and 42" for some reason.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146977#

Something like that?

I'm not too keen on Toshibas either, we have a 42" one in the lounge and you can see funny patterns though the screen while its on!

What faults you heard about the samsungs? ive just bought one haha!

Also if you're buying a new tv you would be as well going for a 1080p one surely?

1080 is the vertical resolution. p is progressive scan/digital signal.
i.e. currently the highest quality image standard in the world.

Maybe the marks are just hit & miss then, i've no experience with samsung really but always though of them as a decent TV. When we got the one in the lounge my mum was after the Sony one and i told her "your only paying for the name" so she went with a Toshiba instead & now we have a crap tv (imo) lol

The Japanese are developing SHV - Super Hi-Vision which is 4,320 horizontal picture lines and 7,680 vertical lines!

Mine is a 42" LG 1080P Full LCD HD tv set, works fine, picture is really good, cant fault it, and with 4 years warranty all for £700 i cant complain, bought it back in April.

The ebuyer website gives you the dimensions of the TVs, go stick some news papers together and your lovely assistant hold it in the corner while you sit and imagine what it would be like watching TV on it.

Thats how i planned for my projector screen ;)

One 32" samsung LCD purchased 6 years ago - still fine
One 26" samsung LCD purchased 3 years ago - still fine
One 22" samsung LCD monitor purchased just over a year ago - still fine
One 40" samsung LCD purchased about 6 months ago - still fine

Brother has 2 samsung TV's and both have been flawless.

If you get a faulty one you're just unlucky, and that can happen with any product from any company.

I repair them, dont just go for the name, because every manufacture has there "crap models! ie. DONT buy a sony or panasonic from a supermarket as it will be just as shit as a bush or goodmans!

the samsungs are good for the money but the sound on them is shockingly shit! (compared to others)

Id go for a sony or panasonic for £700, make sure youve got more than 1years gaurantee tho, as its a very very common fault to get a thin line down the screen, and this means a new screen which would cost you more than a new tv!

we do work for all the major retailers and the best is John lewis, they price match and give you 5years warrenty for free, and they after sales is brilliant!!

Yeah John Lewis is very good as you can also see the tv you are going to buy. They also have some great deals e.g buy now pay in 6 months
