Do pensioners have their houses!?

Been putting a kitchen in today, it was 0 degrees outside, and it was probably -2 inside her house, little old woman didnt want the heating on because she had the tv on...

i cant actually feel my fingers, had to get into bed and turn my electric blanket on, the central heating on full blast, and im very tempted to dig out a hot water bottle.

This weather is ridiculous!!

Bring on summer.

my gran is the same, doesnt even have central heating, but has more than enough money in the kitty

It is quite sad, but a lot of the older generation also prefer to just go to bed/have 70 layers on as oppose to putting the heating on. My nan and that used to be like it.

My nans house has the temp on about 26c in the summer and about over 30c in the winter. So dunno why you think old people have cold houses, my nans is like an oven, you could probobly cook the turkey on the living room floor! :p

My grandad lives with us,and the heating is on 24/7,so we basically die in the heat so he can keep warm.But annoying thing is when he had his own place didn't like having the heating on even though he could afford it lol.

And yet if I go see my Step Grand Parent's their flat's always Bloody freezin.

There is one BIG difference here. My Nan (Mum's mum) lives in West Sussex, and my Step Grand Parent's live in Troon (South Ayrshire)

We are trying to get my Nan central heating. She has like a heater thing which blasts out heat, but the house is soo cold. She has plenty of money to do it and we all offer to help. I couldnt do without central heating!

my grandad is fuckin minted yet his house is always ice cold and he follows me round turning lights off, only allowed 1 on at a time. madness!

i work with the elderly, think they hate it when i go see them as they dont put heating on prefer to sit there wrapped in a blanket, then i go and whack the heating on lol they should get help from government most people get a fuel allowance now, but they just worry.............
