Pixon I have got.
Rate quite a lot - only just got use to the texting on it, but sound quality, camera and phone itself is great. Can't fault it...

From what I saw of Luke's phone the other night it has a dodgy touch screen ;)
I've just got the HTC Touch HD, and although it can be a little slow to start up, now I'm getting used to it and finding more features it's a great little phone.
~Only downsides really are that it's exclusive to Orange and that it uses MS Mobile 6 OS

Samsung's new i8510 INNOV8 tbh... 16GB in-built memory, Symbian S60 operating system, 8MP camera and videoshooting in up to 120 frames per second.
Got it earlier this week and it's a mindblowing handset IMO...

Does look nice that Innov8,
Symbian is the same OS for the N95 and N96? I think.

Karl- yep same OS as used in N95 and N96. My boss at work has the N95 8GB and it's chunkier than my INNOV8, and the camera on the Nokia is NOwhere near as good.
Dan- BB Storm looks immense, mate of mine is getting one next, and he works in a phone shop, he loves it.

it all depends on peoples opinions mate and nokias camera quality is just awesome and im sure u do know that the INNOV8 has a 8mp camera and the N95 8gb and N96 only have a 5mp camera but im not saying the samsungs camera is no good it is also good but if u look at the quality of the cameras on the n95s and n96 its just great!

Was simply comparing the two Symbian S60 phones, and it seems to me that the Samsung has the Nokia cleanly beaten. Camera on both N95 and N96 is still very impressive, but the Samsung's is still better when you get them up on a computer screen and zoom in.
C905 SE looks like it might capture slightly more detail with it's camra (SE cameras are always bloody amazing lol), but can't really compare as its not a smartphone.
The N-series Nokia's are great phones, don't get me wrong, but the Samsung has the same operating system, same memory as N96 plus it has a better camera.
Depends on what you're after, here we're talking camera's, whereas the iPhone 3G only has a 2MP camera but makes up for that by having many cool apps (that dyno thingy looks mad).
Personal preference tbh..

had loads of the innov8's back in our shop with all sorts of problems
they might have adapted nokia's operating system but all that means is that you're guaranteed software problems somewhere along the line
good phone no doubt, if not a bit chunky, its a lot taller than an n95 when its slid open
been out a while now though, if you don't like touch screens fair enough but if your open to the idea of them i cant understand why you'd pick the innov8 over the Pixon now
i was unsure about the touchscreen idea but ive got used to it. My first non-nokia phone and i love it.
As for the N96 having things that the Samsungs and SE's dont have... yes your right... lots of problems.

yeh i agree with what your saying and samsung has approved its phones but do note one thing nokia hasnt taken out a camera anywhere near 8mp yet just there 5mps but the day they do i guarantee ya it will be worth the wait!

Agree with you that the Nokia OS are known for bugs and glithces, but the Innov8 uses the updated 3.2 version of Symbian 9.3, instead of the older and more problematic 3.1 version as used in the N95. I'm hoping it is more reliable, although if you've had many back with problems, maybe problem not solved then.
And as for not understanding about choosing an Innov8 over Pixon, how about more inbuilt memory (16GB in built vs 200MB iirc..?) more powerful smartphone OS, 3.5mm universal headphone jack and in-built WiFi?

i used the wifi a lot on my n95, the thing is, most people have unlimited internet on their phones now - and the Pixon supports the fastest type of mobile technology currently out, so i actually don't miss the Wi-Fi, because it costs me nothing to browse the internet anyway
The Pixon comes with a short cable which plugs into the top and allows you to fit a standard headphone jack. Sometimes the size of the 3.5mm jack can be a problem cause they get full of dust and shit easily - ive actually known one customer bring their phone in unrepairable with water damage because condensation had gone in through the jack while they were in the shower. Not a common problem by any means, but it can happen.
The memory is a fair point, though - although i have an 8GB card and cant imagine myself filling it! Although with the amount of software problems ive seen on these phones, i wouldn't save too much to that 16GB of memory, because if the software goes tits up its getting wiped and theres nothing you can do about it! (massive problem with the N95 8GB)
Tbh i know the pixon isn't a 'smartphone' as such, but it still does plenty - what would it need to have to be classed as a smartphone? WiFi? Can't think of much that it hasnt that my old 'smartphone' N95 had.
The store i work in is actually the only CPW in the whole Bolton/Blackburn/Wigan etc area with a repair centre, we get thousands of customers each year coming in (they even get sent from the independant stores, o2, three and even if you phone the manufacturers up) just to get their phones repaired. So we get a good idea of faulty phones when they come out. The K850i for example is the worst phone ive ever seen.

I would buy the new Sony Ericcson k series. The camera is 8.1mp and they build the phone around the camera. I have the k850 which is 5mp and my friends tocco which is also 5mp his camera terrible compared to mine.

Ive got the c905 and the camera is actually immense! So impressed with it, and even video quality is shit hot! Was at stereophonics gig recently and video'd some songs, the image is clear and the sound is not the usual garbled crap you normally get from gigs!

Agree with what you're saying, but being a Smartphone would give it the ability to run certain applications which the Pixon cannot?
And the memory was a big attraction to me, I can put another 16GB stick in it and make it 32GB I hear, not that I'll even use the 16 in the first place.
The reliability is on my mind though, Samsung are generally alright on that front and I'm hoping my Innov8 doesn't let me down lol...

all i'd say mate is make sure the softwares always up to date
and get a memory card for backing up your data when you do updates

with the nokia n series you get the software updater on the PC Suite, so there might be an option with the Samsung one? It scanned for any updates and let you update them if it was available, can't see why the Samsung wouldn't have one.

Didn't notice that when I installed Samsung studio 7, will have another look, maybe I missed it..
Thanks :)
Edit- doesn't appear to have one on Studio 7, will put in the CD again and have a gander, must be on there somewhere *he hopes*.
