Easy DIY job if it will fit onto your pipe, if not you may need to either weld it on or add some connecter pipe and exhaust clamps or something along those lines
Won't affect your MOT unless it's stupidly loud or has a de-cat but it should be alright as it's just a backbox

bit of an old thread but my Q is releated , can you do this with the car just jacked up on one side ? or do you need to have it on a lift?

tbh you can do it without it being jacked up at all
but you should never work under a car witout it on stands or ramps, just incase jack fails or it comes off our shaking the car etc

direct fit: 2bolts on exhaust clamp, rubbers off, new box on rubbers on tighten bolts, jobs a good un
universal: i wouldnt even bother, chances are teh build quality is wank, it will need welding and when its worn out you'l need to bin the centre section aswell.
direct fit is the way forwards!!
