For the last 3 months ive been working on a farm as a temp, a week or so back the boss offered me a full time job with all the training, which is all good, but the poor old pug has taken abit of a battering, various suspension parts squeeking and cracking and all sorts. So now im looking to get something abit more suitable for the job. I have had my eye on the warrior, ive had mix remarks about its off road use, is it a good truck for minor off road use or does anyone else have any ideas??
Cheers Tom

Know someone who bought an L200 just cos they were annoyed at getting stuck in snow on the way to work

Im lucky to be able to give my own opinion on all of these.
I have fleet car insurance and have pounced these from my parents offices numerous times.

Defender 90
Expensive to buy.
Very hard wearing.
Excellent Off Road
Can dent the fuck out of it and will hold its value.
Problem is its a 90 odd year car with techology of a 90 year old car. Your bollocks will freeze in the winter.

Shogan
Cheap.
Prone to headgasket failures.
Expensive to run (turbo).
Good offroad gear box.
Very good for towing.

L200
Shogan with a big lump bolted to the back.
Prone to headgasket problems.
Not worth the risk due to the second hand value.
Off roading is nominal.
Even better with tyre upgrades
Will rust quickly with dents.

Hilux Pickup
Screams around roundabouts.
Parking sensors a must.
Steering is light.
Requires "big truck" confidence to drive as car parks are a squeeze.
Never towed with one but after getting stuck in a field, would guess are strong.
Automatic gearbox and Low gear ratios can handle alsmost everything.

Pajero (shogan import) LWB
Pajero is spanish for wanker.
Nothing really to add.

I drive a 1998 Shogan most the time but have had a 2007 Hilux for the past 2 weeks.
The Hilux is just too big for me. Theres no way of seeing around you when you are driving around.

I would say if you can get a cheap, well serviced Shogan, do that.
Problem is, if their head gasket went, you need a new engine.

Hilux work well, just need getting used to compared to a small car.

does it have to be a pick up?

what about a toyota landcruiser / Amazon?

not sure on prices, but theyre brilliant off road, and can pull around the 3 ton mark... my dad used to have one, never had a problem with it
